The National Contact Point NCP XFEL in the UPJŠ structure is established as a project workplace at the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Science, UPJŠ. The headquarters of the NCP XFEL are the designated premises at the Institute of Physics at Park Angelinum 9 (office of the head of the NCP XFEL) and in the CIRA building at Park Angelinum 19.
The NCP XFEL is headed by the Head of the NCP XFEL. The Head of the NCP XFEL is an employee of UPJŠ who is the Slovak delegate to the Eu-XFEL Council or another advisory body of E-XFEL, or an employee of UPJŠ, who actively collaborates scientifically with the XFEL.
In the event of the termination of the position of Head of the NCP XFEL in the Eu-XFEL Council or the termination of activities pursuant to paragraph 2 of this article, the dean shall appoint a new head of the office with regard to the provisions of paragraph 2 of this article.
The management of the NCP XFEL consists of a director and two deputies, who are employees of the cooperating institutions, usually in Košice and Bratislava. The members of the management are usually remunerated on the basis of a performance agreement.
The advisory body of the management is the NCP XFEL Council. It is composed of representatives of each infrastructure (1 representative each), which is the subject of the activities of the Commission for ESFRI projects (Art. 1, paragraph 3). The main objective of the NCP Council is to link the activities of this Commission with the activities of the NCP XFEL.
The members of the office management as well as the members of the NCP Council are appointed and dismissed by the Dean of the Faculty of Science upon the proposal of the head of the NCP XFEL. The term of office management and the NCP Council is usually 3 years and it is possible to hold this position repeatedly.
UPJŠ and the Faculty of Science will create conditions for the activities of the NCP.
The staff responsible for the NCP XFEL agenda are subordinate to the Secretary of the Faulty of Science.
