The National Contact Point for XFEL and European Research Infrastructures (NCPXFEL) is an association of the scientific community in the field of basic and applied research in Slovakia, which was created with the aim of supporting and enhancing excellent science and research in Slovakia.

It can be used to obtain information and assistance regarding measurement times, user meetings, current offers of cooperation or linking to the right local contacts. Thanks to NCPXFEL, scientists can meet to create new groups and strong consortia, for example for future applications for funding from various EU and Slovak mechanisms, and thus support the quality and sustainability of research.

Promotional activities abroad are supported, as well as the retention and return of brains to Slovakia, as well as educational courses and training for young talents at major research infrastructures.

Why the European XFEL, the Laue-Langevin Institute, the Large Hadron Collider, the Extreme Light Infrastructure, or the European Solar Telescope?

The Slovak Republic is a member state of these transnational research infrastructures and therefore has an important position in their activities.
